Selecting a transformative QEP is essential for improving the learning environment and learning outcomes at JSU and central to JSU's reaccreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). However, only one can be chosen and implemented. Tell us which plans you prefer and why. Feel free to critique, praise or make suggestions about them.

The proposal ideas are good. Any one of them will advance our students if properly implemented and monitored.

All proposals submitted are acceptable. However, in a world that is becoming more globalized and shrinking and ever more dominated by minorities, we cannot allow our students to remain "tongue tide" and ignorant of what is happening around us. The "Engaging Global Inquiry" is a perfect fit, in my opinion, to transform Jackson State University students (and faculty!)--it is extremely well written, well-thought, substantive, able to inform the whole curriculum, as it incorporates all competencies of the New Academy, and doable. It would place our institution squarely on the world map, and our students would be able to engage their counterparts anywhere on the globe. Isolationism and a silo mentality ought to be paradigms of the past. President Obama has shown us how important it is for us to be and function as an integral part of the world community. Despite the effort of our faculty and administrative pioneers, our curriculum is still inadequate in meeting the global needs of a rapidly changing world. This explains my vote, and I hope you will agree with me. Mario
